Building Ocala’s Future, Together!

Founded in 1994, the Greater Ocala Community Development Corporation (GOCDC) was created to respond to gaps in quality of life and economic opportunity. Rooted in the needs of West Ocala, GOCDC was formed to help residents, families, entrepreneurs, and neighborhoods gain better access to education, housing, business support, employment opportunities, and community resources.

Today, that same mission continues as GOCDC works to help Greater Ocala grow stronger, more connected, and better prepared for the future. GOCDC helps families, workers, entrepreneurs, and neighborhoods gain the skills, support, housing stability, business tools, and technology access needed to thrive in a changing economy.

How We Help

Technology, AI, workforce changes, and rising costs are reshaping how people learn, work, do business, access services, and build stable lives.

These changes can create new opportunities, but they can also widen existing gaps for families, workers, entrepreneurs, and neighborhoods without the right support.

GOCDC helps Greater Ocala respond to these changes by strengthening the abilities of individuals, families, businesses, and communities in four key areas:

  • Business & Entrepreneurship
  • Housing & Neighborhood Stability
  • Workforce & Technical Literacy
  • Community Education & Family Support

Our Core Belief

Knowledge opens the door to the life many of us dream of, from economic stability to business ownership and greater opportunity for our families. GOCDC is dedicated to working with business leaders, municipalities, and nonprofit partners to offer quality classes that build understanding, strengthen families, and help our communities grow together.

How You Can Help

GOCDC is always looking for partners, volunteers, and donors who share our commitment to building a stronger Ocala.

With the support of local businesses, municipalities, nonprofits, and community members, we can grow our local economy, guide individuals and entrepreneurs who need support, and provide education, tools, and resources to people who may not have access to them otherwise.
